About Us

For the 2011 season, Eurotech Racing is at the forefront of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship on behalf of Pirtek Racing. The team, which was founded by and continues to be managed by Mike Jordan, is running the Vauxhall Vectras of Andrew Jordan and Jeff Smith in a full programme in the BTCC.

The team which began with Mike preparing customer Porsches in 1987, has an unrivalled history in motorsport which spans over two decades. Long before entering the BTCC, Eurotech was winning races and championships across motorsport. They have won over 30 championships, including the coveted British GTO title and the Porsche Cup seven times, as well as countless races.

The last time the Eurotech name was in the BTCC was back in 2008 when the company made history by fielding a pair of Honda Integra's under the John Guest Racing banner. With both Mike and Andrew Jordan driving for the team, they became the first father and son pairing in the 50-year history of the BTCC. 2008 turned out to be a very strong year for the team with Andrew impressing the field with his raw pace and talent. His strong showings caught the eye of the 2007/08 Championship winning team VX Racing, leading Andrew on to a works drive for the 2009 season.

The combination of Mike and Andrew gives experience and knowledge as well as youth and determination to the Eurotech team. In 2009 aged just 19, Andrew became the youngest ever driver to take pole for a BTCC race, whilst two years prior, at the age of 48, Mike had become the oldest racer to win in the BTCC, outlining the raw talent in the Jordan family.

Inn 2010  the Tamworth based, family-run Eurotech team maintained momentum with the proven Vauxhall Vectra race car, and Andrew scored his debut BTCC victorty at Croft in June. The Eurotech team carried over several personnel who worked with the Triple Eight Race Engineering squad, as well as key members of the Jordan-run Britcar team last season.

The team's History...

Although the team's origins were in Porsche racing, it excelled in saloon car racing in the early 1990s when it twice won the Wilhire 24-hours in 1992 and 1993. Jordan, racing a BMW M3, was runner-up in the 1992 Esso Group N Saloon Car Championship.

Through the 1990s, cars entered by the team dominated the Porsche Cup, winning the title no less than seven times. The team also moved into Eurocar racing, winning the V8 title in 1996 and 1997 and then finished runner-up in the TVR Tuscan Challenge in 2000 and 2001.

The move into GT racing came in 2000 and was an immediate success as Mark Sumpter clinched the British GTO title in a Porsche 911GT3R. In 2001, Mike winning the British GT Championship driving the works Lister Storm with Sumpter finished third in GTO, only headed by works-entered cars. A move into international racing came in 2002 when the team competed in the Daytona 24 Hours with a Porsche 911GT3RS. Despite some major driveshaft failures, the team worked tirelessly to get the car to the finish.

In 2003, the team fielded two specially built 911GT3RSs in the FIA GT Championship, with both cars scoring podium finishes against the cream of international GT teams. Mike also competed at the legendary Le Mans 24 hour race with the works TVR team.

For 2004, the team concentrated on the British GT Championship and entered no less than four Porsches in British GT. Two 911GT3RSRs for Jordan/Sumpter and David Jones/Godfrey Jones were joined by a pair of 911GT3 Cup cars for the new GT Cup class in the hands of Stuart Scott/Steve Wood and Peter Chambers/Graeme Langford. Jordan/Sumpter topped the season with a mighty victory at Castle Combe in June. Also this year 14 year old Andrew started racing in a Mini Junior Rallycross car winning the winter Championship and the BTRDA Clubman's Series.

In 2005, British GT was again at the centre of the team's plans as well as an involvement in the Michelin Porsche Open Series. A three-car British GT team comprised Jordan/Michael Caine and Jones/Jones with Scott/Wood chased glory in the GT Cup class. Andrew continued winning in Rallycross taking all three championships he took part in. He then made an initial step to circuit racing in a Ginetta G20 winning the winter Series at only 16 years old.
Eurotech started another new challenge as the team stepped up into the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship for 2006 with the ex-Matt Neal Honda Integra R for Mike Jordan. A memorable victory at Mondello Park and other podium finishes showed that the team had earned its place in the BTCC. In addition, the team was busy in sports and GT racing, entering several series with customers. Andrew made more history by being the youngest ever driver in the fastest class of British Rallycross. Driving for legend Will Gollop's team, Andrew drove a four wheel drive Ford Focus with over 550bhp, winning his first full British Championship round at just turned 17.

Team Eurotech focused on three major race programmes for 2007. Mike Jordan contested the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, Andrew Jordan competed in the Elf Renault Clio Cup and David and Godfrey Jones entered the Avon Tyres British GT Championship in their Ascari KZ1. Andrew also again raced the Focus in British Rallycross, and after a full season ended up as British Supercar Champion. Whilst Andrew absolutely adored Rallycross and in many ways would have liked to step up into the full European championship, sponsorship is hard to find for this great sport and so a full time switch to circuit racing was decided upon.

Then, in 2008 came the history making season in the BTCC with Mike and Andrew Jordan making a two-car team and running right at the head of the Independents' Trophy, with three victories. The 2008 programme marked the 13th consecutive season that Team Eurotech and John Guest worked together, making it one of the most successful and enduring partnerships in British motor racing.

In 2009 Mike Jordan took a step back from full time racing to support son Andrew in his role at VX Racing in the BTCC, where he was backed by another long term sponsor, Pirtek UK. The scaled down family team then went on to run a successful two car campaign in the Britcar series in 2009, with a Ford Mustang GT500 driven by Mike and partnered by Steve Wood and Stuart Scott and a Ginetta G50 driven by Andrew and Mike, with victories in the six hour Silverstone race for the Mustang and the three hour Spa race for the Ginetta G50. Mike also continued to work with David and Godfrey Jones, now customers for 15 years, and guided their Ascari run by Team Pyro to the British GT Championship, a great result for the 56 year old identical twins.

In 2010 there was a fresh challenge for the Eurotech team as the Pirtek Racing Vectra aimed for victories in the British Touring Car Championship. Meanwhile the team aimed to maintain momentum, pushing for success in the Britcar series with the CBT Ford Mustang and some selected long distance races for the Ginetta G50.
The team also fielded a two-car team in the Ginetta Junior championship for the 2010 racing season with promising young racing talents Sarah Moore and Brother David as the team's drivers.
