Mike Jordan has announced that his Eurotech Racing team will be back in both Britcar Production and GT Championships for 2010. In addition to running their team's programme under the Pirtek Racing banner in the British Touring Car Championship, with a new Vauxhall Vectra driven by Andrew Jordan, the team will be chasing Britcar Production honours in a developed version of the Mustang GT500 they ran last year.
The Ford Mustang will run under the familiar livery of CBT for owner/ driver Stuart Scott for the forthoming season, whilst Jordan will himself drive the car this year with both Stuart and Steve Wood sharing the car. "The car developed well throughout last season and hopefully we can now be a contender for wins" commented the former British GT Champion, Mike.
Car owner Scott added, "The Mustang proved at the end of last season that it is a strong package, we thoroughly enjoy the Britcar Championship and after taking third in the championship last year we are certainly hunting for more this season."
The Britcar GT Championship sees the Eurotech Racing team also launch a championship assault with the Ginetta G50 that Mike and Andrew Jordan both drove so effectively in 2009. The father and son pairing scored several wins in 2009, most notably at the Spa three hour race in torrential conditions. For 2010 the duo will return and will be joined at some of the events by long former Britcar Porsche racer Gerry Harrison. 20 year old BTCC star Andrew commented, "We had some great races last year up amongst the Class one and two cars and our aim now is for the odd outright podium in the series. I really feel that the Ginetta is a very strong package, especially in wet conditions like we had at Spa last year, so I really feel we can achieve this. I love racing in Britcar, its close, competitive racing, but at the same time a lot of fun and really enjoyable to be racing alongside my dad."
The Britcar season kicks off in just under three weeks time at the Brands Hatch Circuit in Kent. The series will visit nine different venues, including the popular Silverstone 24hour race and a European round at Zolder.
