| September update |
|
September was a busy month for us with BTCC race weekends at Knockhill and Rockingham. Both weekends were a challenge and our hopes for a strong run for Andrew at Rockingham were spoilt when he was hit early in the first race and suffered a broken steering rack. That put us on the back foot for the rest of the day and cost him a chance of a podium finish. However, Jeff Smith had a good run in the third race to mix it with Matt Neal. The weekend after Rockingham I went to Spa to race at the Classic Six Hour meeting, which had around 900 entries for the weekend! Unfortunately our bad luck followed me. In the U2TC race, our Lotus Cortina was dogged by a persistent misfire. Then, in the six-hour race I was due to share the Ford GT40 Roadster with Philip Walker and Danny Wright. Sadly, the car suffered a broken gear linkage towards the end of Philip's stint and retired. I think our pace would have taken us on to the podium. Mike Jordan 30 September 2011 |
